Bathurst
For the children of year 5 and 6, the Bathurst experience was amazing.
We visited many outstanding places on the way there. We went to the Three Sisters and then to the Jenolan Caves to have lunch. Our tour through Lucas Cave was amazing. Everyone was interested in these locations.
Our accommodation was at Rossmore Park at the Bathurst Sheep and Cattle Drome where we participated in many fun activities including an animal show. It was entertaining watching the sheep strut up on the stage along with some other animals like pigs, cows and goats. We also enjoyed a fantastic bush dance, everyone participated and I’m sure they enjoyed themselves. We also had a wonderful talent quest where we toasted marshmallows and watched everyone’s unique talents. I think we are all grateful to Gary for letting us stay there, with wonderful meals and cabins.
Terry and Ewan drove us to many awesome places to enjoy like Sofala and Hill End.
History Hill gave us an insight into the way life was during the goldrush era.
After our walking tour of the town of Hill End we all went down to the creek to do some gold-panning. Most of us got lucky and found a few specks of gold.
In Bathurst we visited the Fossil and Mineral Museum where we learnt about rocks and minerals and saw some prehistoric remains, which amazed us all.
Bathurst was an experience that all of year 5 and 6 will never forget.
